My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer for the third time after 10 years being cancer free. My grandmother also had breast cancer twice before a radical double mastectomy. Luckily, they are both with me still – but I wanted to do something to help raise awareness. So I’m going to ride 220 miles over three days from Hershey to NYC with the Tour de Pink in October. This blog will discuss my training, fundraising and how my mom recovers from her double mastectomy. The least I could do is ride a few thousand miles up and down some hills. Appreciate your support.
I am very interested in this event in October. My younger sister, who was sprcial needs, died from breast cancer when she was 48. My olders sister is a breast cancer survivor. One fraternal aunt and 2 cousins died from breast cancer.
I will be 60 in November and figured this would be a good time to try this. I need details on how to train, raise money, contacts. I would appreciate any information. I have started on a weight loss program, down 20 so far, and have a personal trainer. So I have already started the wheels “turning”. Thank you in advance for any advise. Terri
